Trending Score
A trending score is a platform-specific signal used to rank tokens or trading pairs on a discovery list. Inputs, weights, and update timing vary, so no universal crypto score exists.
Why it matters
A trending score helps a discovery platform order tokens or trading pairs by current activity and attention. It can show that a token is becoming more visible, but it is not a universal crypto metric and it is not a safety rating.
DEX Screener uses the exact name Trending Score for the signal behind its trending screener and trending bar.
What affects the score
DEX Screener’s Trending documentation groups key signals into market activity, community engagement, and trust and credibility. Examples include volume, liquidity, transactions, unique makers, holders, token-page visits, Reactions, verified information, open-source code, and security checks.
These are documented categories, not a complete formula. DEX Screener does not publish fixed weights, thresholds, or a guaranteed recipe for a specific position.
A token’s score can rise while its visible position stays unchanged because competing tokens improved faster. Compare the score and the ranking separately.
How to read it
- Confirm the correct token and pair address.
- Compare liquidity, volume, transactions, and unique makers over the same period.
- Track page visits and community engagement where data is available.
- Keep token information accurate and review security warnings.
- Measure the visible trending position separately from the score.
Official DEX Screener Boosts can temporarily increase an existing Trending Score. A Boost does not replace other signals or guarantee placement. The full mechanics belong in How DEX Screener Trending Works.
Common mistakes
- Reading the score as proof of token quality or safety.
- Assuming strong activity is necessarily organic.
- Confusing an improved score with a guaranteed ranking.
- Applying one platform’s terminology or inputs to every discovery service.
A trending score is a platform-specific visibility signal, not a promise of rank, safety, or future performance.
