Rug Pull
When a token team drains the liquidity pool or dumps a hidden team allocation to exit with holders' money.
Why it matters
Rugs are the oldest scam on DEX and the most consistent way retail loses money on new launches. Every red flag has a checker for it in 2026 - but people still buy on FOMO instead of checking.
Types of rugs
- Hard rug - team pulls LP in one transaction, chart goes to zero instantly.
- Soft rug - team slow-dumps their team wallet over hours, price bleeds out.
- Mint rug - team calls mint function, prints trillions of new tokens, dumps.
- Blacklist rug - team blacklists holders one by one so only they can sell.
- Honeypot rug - honeypot contract designed to trap buys from block one.
A token trends at $5M mcap with $200K LP. Chat is hyped, chart looks clean. Team's LP is unlocked. In one tx, the deployer removes 100% of LP - $200K SOL to their wallet, token price to zero.
Every buyer wakes up to a token with no liquidity, no chart and no exit. LP verify would have caught this in 10 seconds.
Red flags before you buy
- Unlocked LP or lock under 30 days.
- Contract not renounced - team can still change tax, blacklist or mint.
- Team wallet over 20% of supply - single-wallet dump risk.
- Sell tax over 10% that can be changed post-launch.
- Mint or blacklist functions still callable - RugCheck flags these in one scan.
Common mistakes
- Buying without checking LP status - takes 5 seconds on DEX Screener.
- Trusting "renounced" claims from Telegram admins without verifying on-chain.
- Ignoring top holders - one wallet with 30% is one wallet with the power to end the chart.
- Confusing dead launch with rug - a dead chart is not a scam, just a fail.
The rug isn't the surprise. The surprise is that the same red flags kept working all year.

Launching a token → Panda Bundler. Growing an existing one → PandaBoost Panel.
Whatever stage you're at — we're the stack.
Pre-launch? Bundle safe, warm wallets, fund quiet.
Post-launch? Trend on every scanner, chart and feed that matters.
The launch window is short. Don't waste it.
